There is dignity and power in being able to tell your own story. First Story changes lives by equipping young people with the skills and confidence to tell their stories well. First Story is a creative-writing charity that places a professional writer into a state secondary school, where they work intensively with students and their teachers to develop creativity, confidence and writing ability. I am supporting them to raise some much-needed funds to support their work in the lead up to Christmas. I am joining Juno Dawson and Max Porter and other writers as we each read aloud some of the stories from First Story’s annual Six-Word Story competition.
